The standard agreement documents for building and construction are set out in General Conditions for the Provision of Works and Supplies in Building and Engineering (AB92), the General Conditions for Consulting Services of October 1989 (ABR 89) and the General Conditions for Turnkey Contracts of December 1993 (ABT93). The conditions were adopted by the parties in the building and construction sector and thus not by the Danish parliament.
The parties in a building or construction project may have stipulated in their contract that the provisions of the three standard agreements apply, which means that disputes will be resolved within the framework of the Arbitration Board, or the parties may otherwise have agreed to use the Arbitration Board before or after a dispute has arisen.
The Arbitration Board offers an array of services, depending on the nature of the individual dispute, including hearing by an arbitration tribunal, expert appraisal, expert determination, expedited arbitration, anticipatory dispute resolution, conciliation and mediation.
Any deadlines set out in the standard documents or the rules and regulations of the Arbitration Board will be considered to have been met if the documents in question are submitted by midnight on the deadline date, rather than by the end of office hours.
